WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH A PRIVATE FORUM
Forum Administrator

Membership - Private Forums are set up so that the general internet public can't see the data being displayed to members. You are in
total control of who may become a member of your Private Forum. No one can access the Registration Form without being
given the Registration Access Code. You supply this access code to those you wish to join your forum. This is done automatically
via a script we supply you to invite people to become members of your forum.

Membership Approval - Having the Registration Access Code still isn't enough for anyone to become a member of your forum. Following
Registration, you are sent an E-Mail informing you that someone has Registered. It is up to you whether to accept or
decline the Application for Membership.

Create Forum Categories - Although we will set up a base forum for you to start with, you are not limited by what we give you
in terms of Forum Categories. As a Forum Administrator, you can add/modify/delete Forum Categories. You can control which members
of your forum can post to these categories. You even have the ability to limit what members can see posts within certain categories. So,
if you have members of an Executive Board (for example) within your forum membership, you can set up a Special Forum Category just for them.
Only they will see this Category when they log in, and only they will be able to post messages within that Category. It's like having
a Private Forum within your Private Forum!

Create Forum SubCategories - Just like Forum Categories, you are in control of what SubCategories are installed within your forum. Again,
we will set you up with a base, but you can add/modify/delete Forum Subcategories whenever you wish. This is a very easy function.

Mass E-Mail - As the Forum Administrator, you have the ability to send an E-Mail to all members of your forum. You simply fill out the
E-Mail message and submit. All members will automatically be sent your message. Only System Administrators have this capability. It is
a tool that is to be used sparingly, but it comes in handy when you have something you need to bring to everyone's attention in a hurry.

Member Abuse - This is a Private Forum that you are in control of. Unlike Public Forums, it is unlikely you will run into member
abuse and/or misuse, but it is certainly possible. You have the ability to delete members just as easily as you accepted them in the first
place.

|
Assign Moderators - While running a Private Forum is fairly easy compared to the headaches associated with Public Forums, it can
be useful to have some help with your forum. You have the ability to assign Moderator Status to select members of your forum.
Moderators have the ability to monitor/modify/delete posts within assigned Categories. Moderators are not Administrators, but they
can have (limited) Administrator functions. Very helpful if you plan to run a fairly large (many members) forum.

Complicated? - Not at all.
It may seem so, by reading all of the above information, but everything is
menu driven and self explanatory. We give you detailed instructions on how to accomplish all the functions described above.
In no time at all, you will be an Expert Forum Administrator. Forum members will hold you in very high esteem!

Forum Members

Become A Member - The only way you can become a member is to:
1) Be invited to become a member.
2) Be approved as a member by the Forum Administrator.

Personal Profile - Personal profile data can NOT be viewed by Non-Members of the Forum. Only those with valid membership can see
personal data about other members. Additionally, you are in control of what other Forum Members can see. The only thing that
is absolutely required to become a member is a Valid E-Mail address and a UserName (Administrator may require your Actual Name).
You even have the ability to hide your Valid E-Mail address from other Forum Members! That will be up to you. All other
Personal Data is optional. You may (if you wish) display to other members optional information like:
E-Mail Address
ICQ Number
AOL Instant Messenger Address
MSN Instant Messenger Address
Yahoo Instant Messenger Address
Website Address
Your Location
Your Occupation/Job Title
Your Interests
Personal Data can be limited to nothing more than just your UserName. It should be noted that the Forum Administrator will
have access to your Valid E-Mail address, even though you may decide not to display this to other members.

Add Your Picture - You can (optional) associate your picture with your UserName. With a picture added, that picture will be displayed
in every post you make to the forum.
We also supply you with some generic graphics you can associate with your UserName if you don't have (or want) to display your own photo.
These pre-loaded generic graphics (animals/comic strip characters) are called Avatars. You can use them if you wish. It is entirely up to you!

E-Mail Other Members - If another member has made their E-Mail Address available to the forum, you can send them an E-Mail
directly. If a member has opted not to display this information, you will not have E-Mail capability, but you can still send them
a Private Message. (see next bullet on Private Messages).

Private Messages - There will be times that you may wish to communicate with another member, but not actually post that
information in the forum for all to see. You will have the ability to do so via the Private Message system of the forum. You simply
click on Private Message ("PM") and type in you message. This message will be stored for the "selected" member until the next
time they login to the forum. The will be informed that they have a private message at that time.
Note: You can set up your Personal Profile to notify you by E-Mail, whenever someone sends you a Private Message. That way you are
made aware that a message is waiting for you in the forum. (this is optional, although recommended!)
You can also set up your profile so that a Pop-Up Notification appears, as you enter the forum, informing you of the existence of a Private Message waiting
for your response. (this is optional, although recommended!)

Posting To The Forum - You will find that most Categories (but possibly not all) allow you to post Replies to existing posts, or
you can create New Topics for others to reply to.
You can modify your existing posts (unless restricted from doing so by the Administrator)
You can delete your existing posts (unless restricted from doing so by the Administrator)
Note: You may find some Categories are restricted to viewing only. This decision will be made by the Forum Administrator.

Topic Watch - Probably the MOST POWERFUL TOOL in the Forum. You can set up a watch on any Topic posted
in the Forum. When ever someone posts to that topic, you are notified automatically by E-Mail (if you set a topic watch) that there is new information posted
in that topic. You then know to log into the forum to see what that new information is.

Creating Polls - Want to see how other members feel about a certain subject? Create a poll to find out!
Simply pose your question and give several options as answers to your question, and you have a create a poll! Very easy.
Members can now vote (and view results) of the poll you created.

Forum Search - Did you remember there was a post somewhere in the forum about a certain subject, but can seem to locate it anymore?
The Forum has a built keyword search capability, to assist you in finding those posts. This comes in very handy if the forum is growing very
large.
